Under Construction! Moving hosts and rebuilding the website... apologies for the mess!
KoopaKungFu was created in October 2010 by Daniel "Koops" Frey following the explosion of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 videos on YouTube. "KoopaKungFu" was originally named "Kung Fu Koopa", based on the Mario Party 7 Koopas in Pagoda Peak. During the first couple of recordings, Koops flubbed the "Kung Fu Koopa" opening and switched the name to KoopaKungFu for the smoother alliteration. While KoopaKungFu never uploaded any MW2 videos, it was heavily influenced by creators such as Sandy Ravage and MisterFantasmo on YouTube along with the Angry Video Game Nerd. The earliest videos ever uploaded (though eventually deleted) were Mario Kart 64 races featuring Duke Nukem voice overs, inspired by Sandy Ravage. Koops met Pwnobi on YouTube and started mingling with the competitive Pokemon battle scene, eventually winding up on Ninbuzz where he found some success doing a Wario Land let's play for the Virtual Boy.
While Koops is the founder of KoopaKungFu and in most videos, there are a few other main cast members who show up often. SirEnobMort, Snoopy, and MrPVBravo are the main gang along with a steady stream of appearances from DracoPaladin. More information on everyone is below if you're interested! Since then KoopaKungFu has uploaded a variety of Let's Plays ranging from Rayman Origins on the Wii to Plants vs. Zombies on the iPad to Left 4 Dead on the PC. The Let's Plays are humble in nature featuring minimal editing, relatively long episodes, live commentary, and lots of laughter. KoopaKungFu has uploaded 3000 videos viewed over 150 million times.

How do you record video / audio?
PC games are recorded in 1920 x 1080 resolution at 60 frames per second (FPS) through OBS Studio. Current generation console games are recorded in 1920 x 1080 resolution at 60 FPS through xCapture-1. HDMI input is split through a HDMI splitter. iPad games are recorded in 1920 x 1080 resolution at 60 FPS using a Lightning Digital AV Adapter and the xCapture-1. Older generation console games are recorded in 1280 x 720 resolution at 30 FPS through the xCapture-1 or the Elgato Game Capture HD. The Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Wii U screens are recorded through hard-mods to the system, allowing video capture. Here is the website to buy the modded systems: http://www.3dsvideocapture.com/
Audio is recorded with a Shure SM7B microphone passed through a DBX 286s processor and then digitally converted with an Alesis Multimix 8.
Everything is then imported into Sony Vegas Pro, edited, and then rendered for YouTube. The video codec I use is Main Concept AVC/AAC 1080p 60 FPS 20 million bit rate (bps). Audio format is AAC with a 384,000 bps.
